In Southern Maine, we're fortunate to have miles of picturesque coastline, boasting some of Maine's most stunning beaches. We enjoy the beaches on a regular basis. We walk our dogs on Gooch's Beach where we also surf and paddle board. Our children have fond memories of playing in the tide pools and at the playground at Mother's Beach. These shores offer something for everyone, whether you're a family seeking a serene beach day or a surfer chasing the perfect wave. Kennebunk Beaches
Gooch's Beach
Gooch's Beach, nestled along the enchanting coastline of Kennebunk, Maine, beckons with its tranquil charm and captivating ocean vistas. Middle Beach

Mother's Beach
Mother's Beach is a beloved coastal gem cherished for its inviting atmosphere and family-friendly amenities. With its expanse of smooth sand stretching along the shoreline, Mother's Beach provides the perfect playground for beachgoers of all ages. Children delight in exploring the tidal pools, which teem with fascinating marine life. The gentle waves lapping at the shore provide a safe and enjoyable environment for swimming. Nearby, a quaint playground beckons with swings, slides, and climbing structures for little ones.
Parking & Amenities
During peak season (July through Labor Day), lifeguards and porta-potties are available at both Gooch's Beach and Mother's Beach. Mother's Beach additionally features a public playground.
Parking requires a permit during peak season. Non-residents can obtain daily ($25), weekly ($100), or seasonal ($200) passes from three kiosks, the PassPortParking mobile app, or Kennebunk Town Hall. For more information contact Kennebunk Town Hall at (207) 985-2102.
Kennebunkport Beaches
Goose Rocks Beach
Stretching over three miles along the scenic coastline of Kennebunkport, Goose Rocks Beach beckons both avid walkers and families seeking a day of seaside fun. Named for the scattered rocks resembling the backs of geese, this coastal gem boasts expansive, smooth, and sandy shores. Children delight in building sandcastles and frolicking in the gentle surf, while adults enjoy leisurely strolls along the shoreline. The beach offers breathtaking views of Timber Island just off the coast. Although lifeguards are not present, the calm waters and gradual slope make it safe for swimmers of all ages.
Colony Beach
Colony Beach (off Ocean Avenue, near the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport) is small but well loved for both its sandy beach and the jetty where you can watch the boats going in and out of the Kennebunk River. Parking permits are not required.
Parking & Amenities
Parking permits are required at Goose Rocks Beach ($25/$100/$200). Please note that Kennebunk permits are not valid here. Permits can be purchased at the Town Hall or the Goose Rocks General Store, and there's a ticket kiosk at the corner of Proctor and King's Highway.
