We walk our dogs on Gooch’s Beach where we also surf and paddle board. Our children have fond memories of playing in the tide pools and at the playground at Mother’s Beach. While the absence of amenities adds to its charm, visitors are encouraged to exercise caution and respect the beach's wild and untamed environment. During the peak season, from July through Labor Day, lifeguards and porta-potties are available at both Gooch’s Beach and Mother’s Beach. Mother’s Beach additionally features a playground accessible to the public.

While visitors are encouraged to enjoy these beaches, parking requires a permit during the peak season. Non-residents can obtain daily ($25), weekly ($100), or seasonal ($200) passes from three kiosks, the PassPortParking mobile app, or the Kennebunk Town Hall. Kennebunkport Beaches

Stretching over three miles along the scenic coastline of Kennebunkport, Maine, Goose Rocks Beach beckons both avid walkers and families seeking a day of seaside fun. Named for the scattered rocks resembling the backs of geese, this coastal gem boasts expansive, smooth, and sandy shores that provide ample space for beach activities. Children delight in building sandcastles and frolicking in the gentle surf, while adults enjoy leisurely strolls along the shoreline. The beach offers breathtaking views of Timber Island just off the coast, adding to its allure and natural beauty. Although lifeguards are not present, the calm waters and gradual slope make it a safe haven for swimmers of all ages. Whether you're basking in the sun, exploring tide pools, or simply enjoying the serenity of the sea, Goose Rocks Beach promises an unforgettable coastal experience on Maine's picturesque coast.

Parking permits are necessary ($25/$100/$200), but please note that Kennebunk permits are not valid here. You can purchase permits at the Town Hall or the Goose Rocks General Store, and there's a ticket kiosk conveniently located at the corner of Proctor and King’s Highway. Colony Beach (off Ocean Avenue, near the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport) This beach is small but is well loved for both its sandy beach and the jetty where you can watch the boats going in and out of the Kennebunk River. Parking permits are not required.
